PERSONAL
Growing up, I have always loved playing sports and hanging out with my family. When I was around 7, I was introduced to volleyball and golf by my father. He played volleyball for the Toronto Connex 9-Man club, he is a Class A member of the Canadian PGA, and also an NCCP Level 1 Coach through Volleyball Canada. These factors play a really big part in where I am today. I started playing at first because it was a Daddy-daughter thing, but later on, it grew into something even more. My father has coached and guided me through not only sports but also life. I am very blessed to have him.
My mother is a spectacular woman. She is my biggest cheerleader and supporter. She is always there for me, and she is a huge role model in my life. Her dedication and love for me are part of the reason I am where I am today. She has taught me how to grow with the right attitude, and how to continually be humble and serve others. Both my mom and dad have shaped me into who I am today. Everyone in my family is always helping me grow. Even including my youngest siblings.

As athletics became a larger part of my life, I was not always the eager athlete to want to practice and train. I knew that I had enough skill and ability to perform well for the most part. However, I didn't have the maturity to recognize that there was so much more that was needed to really excel and perform at the higher level. I only learned this when I got injured. At that point, that's when I realized I needed to do so much more. I had so much regret about not making my body stronger and more protected from injury. I only realized then how blessed I was. During my recovery time, I realized what I wanted to do. One of the biggest lessons I learned from my parents is that whatever I have is not because of my own doing, but because of the blessing that was given to me, I have the chance to play. It was clear how much I needed and wanted to be better. It also paved a path I was uncertain about. Because of my injury, I missed the entire golf season and the beginning of the next volleyball season. Through this, I realized that my passion was for volleyball and not golf. So I committed to volleyball, leaving competitive golf behind, but transferring all I learned as a competitor. Part of me misses golf, but I genuinely love volleyball so much more.
